Chocolate can lift you up completely. I went here on a tiring day where everything around me just annoyed the bloody hell out of me. I did not regret my decision because after some comfort food (and two crocins later), I couldn't remember what I was mad about in the first place.
They have a rectangular sheet of glass covering half of the wall on which you can leave little notes/"must haves" with the markers lying around. I saw a very spastic and terribly constructed sentence about how one shouldn't try the cheese pancake. I steered clear from the cheese pancake (it sounded very unappetising anyway). A friend of mine enthusiastically ordered the Chocolate Chip Pancake which she was extremely confident of. When it was set in front of me, I knew why. It was mouth watering to look at and yes, I did make sounds after taking the first bite. However, off late, their portions seem to have gotten smaller. The initial generosity with the chocolate sauce and chocolate chips will be well received.They have a a variety of waffles too. Another friend was daring enough to order the sausage and salami waffle which was surprisingly good! They have a special "Peter's Pan Sauce" on the table which goes great with savoury options.
The chocolate marble waffle was a bit of a disappointment. It was just a regular waffle doused in chocolate sauce. A bit over the top for me. But hey, if chocolate; pardon me - if excessive chocolate is what gets you going, go for it! The blueberry pancake too, happened to be regular old blueberry jam smothered over the pancake. I guess I was a little too expectant.
Their juices are great too. Not worth the price though.
A great place to start your day with a cheerful breakfast, or goof around with your friends in the evening =]

Eat. Drink. Love

This used to be a cozy little place that reminded you of street cafes in Italy. However, with a change in the location, the owner has made it slightly more upscale with an indoor and outdoor seating. Commenting on the ambience would not really be fair because the interiors are still underway. However, the food just makes up for everything.
The eatery has shifted its location numerous times around Koregaon Park. I hope it stays put this time because getting a hold of the location proved to be rather tedious.
I love that the menu keeps changing. But what made me truly love this place is that it serves you gourmet dishes at a very affordable price. You often find these places that try to have ambitious menu cards that get you really excited and the food is pretty much a bag full of air.
It took us quite a while to pick out our appetisers and entrees.
We ordered the Burnt Garlic Prawns for starters. If you're wondering if it tasted as good as it looks, the answer is yes. It lived up to our expectations entirely. We're very big on prawns- thus, very judgemental when it comes to a prawn dish. It had that amazing smoke filled flavour to it. You can never go wrong with garlic and prawns man!
For the main course, we ordered a Roasted Chicken Pizza which comprised of capers and cheese. When the pizza arrived, we were a little worried because it was fairly large and we had to still chow down a whole other dish shortly after this one! However, the crust was so beautifully thin and light, it melted in your mouth. It doesn't make you feel weighed down and stuffed the way a regular pizza would make you feel.
The other main course was a Philly Cheese Steak. I wasn't quite impressed with their version of it. It was smaller than a regular one, didn't have cheese oozing out and the beef wasn't juicy enough. It just made for a mediocre sandwich. Ah, well...everything can't be perfect I guess =].
I was happy to find that they still had the Fresh Fruit Sangria on the menu. It was delicious the last time I had it. Has fresh pieces of apples and clementine. They used to have a breakfast menu that had amazing bagels. I'm not sure if they still do though =[.

Specials Du Jour =]
I have ALWAYS wanted to do this. Have a food blog, I mean. I wouldn't say that I'm a connoisseur when it comes to food. My knowledge is strictly limited to my daily fixes of TLC, Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen. I am an embarrassing disaster in the kitchen though. I'm clumsy and the term "butter fingers" certainly does not do justice to what might go down if I had to take on a coq-au-vin by myself. I do know flavours though. I love good food. It's one of those things that can spruce up my day completely.
I probably have visited a majority of the restaurants in the city and eating out is one of my favourite things to do =D. It's highly contradictory to the kind of person I am though. I'm a total health nut. But when I eat out, it's all about what hits my palate.
I decided I'd share some of the nicest places that are around and even those that aren't! I don't believe in a budget when it comes to great food. I think beautifully executed food is worth any price. Thus, since me and my equally adventurous boyfriend are more about the experience than the dough, the places that feature here will vary in expense. But one thing is for sure - it'll have been some of the best things you could try =D.
Until then, bon appetit! (Ugh.I know. So utterly cliche. Yes, people almost ALWAYS have to relate to the French when it comes to food!)
